With no response whatsoever, I am at a point where I feel it is time to expose (once again) these blatant double standards and share with you all the great lengths I have gone to in trying to warrant a response from the faceless people that continue to ignore such significant matters that are crucial to a progressive and unified society that bases itself upon equality, tolerance, diversity and empowerment.

This is a HUGE win for body positivity, and most definitely a step in the right direction for Instagram, social media and society! It is a reminder at just how powerful we are, even if we are just one voice. When it comes down to it, it is this collective effort and unity that inspires real change. This gives hope to us who are genuinely trying to make a difference and serves as a reminder to never give up on our message, even when we’re going up against Goliath. I am overcome with shock, happiness, confusion, ecstasy, fatigue, relief and a sense of fulfilment.

Ok, ok. I understand, I may have violated some of Instagram’s terms and conditions that I initially agreed to upon signing up. I’m not sitting here saying I didn’t break any of the rules (I am a rebel after all), but I am appalled at the double standards that Instagram allows and continues to exacerbate if anything. I am disheartened by the injustice, but I will continue to fight the good fight and stand up for the very message my nudity is there for. My account wasn’t there to exacerbate the already engrained ‘norm’ of narcissism that social media is already rife with. As I have reiterated time and time again, I post nude photos as a part of my commitment to promoting body-positivity. My nudity is not here to promote sexualisation of the human body, nor is it here to entertain your judgement.

Honestly, I am gutted. I have built such a great relationship with my followers, and it is through their support and encouragement that I am able to do all of this. Whilst most of the relationships are virtual, they are powerful energetic bonds that are helping to shift the current paradigm. I have such a vested interest in this account because I have come to understand that, used correctly and with good intention, social media (and especially Instagram!) has the capability of spreading a message far and wide, creating a ripple effect and making a difference.
